Is Your Teen Ready for Summer?

Home :: Articles :: Is Your Teen Ready for Summer?

Summer is around the corner and your teenager will be home from school soon.  The following are some suggestions that might be options.

· Landscaping
· Construction
· Parks and Recreation
· Restaurants
· Farm Work
· Internships

Every year, millions of teens work in part-time or summer jobs. Early work experiences can be rewarding for young workers - providing great opportunities to learn important job skills. Today’s youth will be the workforce of the 21st Century.

Part-time or summer jobs can provide your teen with great opportunities for learning important life skills and acquiring hands-on experience – while at the same time earning some spending money.  Teen workers must strike a balance between ensuring sufficient time for educational opportunities and allowing appropriate work experiences.  We want to help parents understand your child so that you can ensure that your teen has a safe and rewarding summer experience.

If your child is not willing to accept the responsibility for a summer job, Our Wilderness Program can assess your child in our 6-8 week program to help your child take responsibility and be aware of his actions that are holding him back from a productive.
